Musical artist Sasco De Dancehall Chaplain

 

Sasco De Dancehall Chaplain, born Sahr Thomas Lebbie in Sierra Leone, has built a compelling career as an Afro-reggae-dancehall artiste, seamlessly blending his faith, cultural heritage, and musical influences into a dynamic sound. His passion for reggae and dancehall was ignited during his secondary school years, inspired by legendary Jamaican artists such as Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Busy Signal, and Bounty Killer.  

 

Musical Evolution and Breakthroughs

Sasco officially launched his professional music career in 2010, making a name for himself in Sierra Leone’s growing reggae-dancehall scene. His ability to fuse Afrobeat elements with reggae and dancehall rhythms quickly set him apart, earning him recognition within local and international music circles.

 

In 2017, he represented the Western region in the prestigious East vs. West National Competition, showcasing his talent on a national scale. That same year, he delivered a powerful performance at Alonzo’s Show at Bintumani Hotel, Freetown, an event attended by fans from England and other countries. Before taking the stage, he was interviewed by Boss TV (UK), further cementing his presence on the global music scene.

 

Sasco's concert at Diamond Lodge Hotel, Kono, in January 2018, organized by Icons  From Ngaiya, was another milestone, solidifying his reputation for electrifying live performances. His participation in numerous community shows earned him widespread respect, as he consistently captivated audiences with his energetic and engaging stage presence..

 

International Recognition and Collaborations

Sasco's first international single, “Day Off,” released in 2021, marked a turning point in his career. The track received substantial airplay across Jamaica, St. Lucia, New York, Sierra Leone, Ghana, and other Caribbean territories, proving his ability to connect with diverse audiences.

 

.His growing influence led to collaborations with Bosslady Production (Canada), Pinchy Kobi Promotion (Jamaica), and NAJ Records (Canada), expanding his reach beyond Africa and into the Caribbean and North America. Over the years, he has worked with prominent Sierra Leonean artists such as Tasha (Swadu), Jakey Jake, Flakey (late), and DopeBoi Stex, creating music that resonates with local and international fans.
